Google launches new satellite images on Google Maps and Earth
Google launches new satellite images that are higher details, better accuracy and vibrant color using the latest US Lansat 8 satellite that went into orbit across the globe in 2013.
Now using Google Maps and Earth you can have better clarity of the surface of the earth, unobstructed by clouds and gather a wealth of details and information. Google Earth previously relied on Landsat 7 satellite which produced outputs that was not optimum and resulted to inappropriate outcomes.
The new imagery released required huge amount of processing and computation power to derive values from the vast amount of data. As mentioned by Google‘700 trillion pixels which is 7000 times more pixels estimated in the number of start in our Galaxy- The Milky Way’ were processed to achieve the result-high resolution maps.
